The Attica Department of Higher Education Licensed Architects’ Union (SADAS), in collaboration with the SynThesis Architects, organized the Day Conference on “Health - Architecture – Therapy”. The key speakers were:

  • Prof. Yannis Tountas, Professor of Social and Preventive Medicine, Medical School- University of Athens, Director of the University Centre for Health Services Research of Medical School - University of Athens, who explained the effect of the hospital environment on patient and staff’s health.

  • Prof. Fani Vavili, Professor at School of Architecture, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Chairwoman of UIA Greece, how spoke about the planning of health facilities,

  • Dr Εvangelia Chrysikou, Architect, Medical Planner, Module co-coordinator MARU LSBU, SynThesis Architects, how emphasized on how planning parameters for health building, derive from research,

  • Dr Christos Kazazis, Biomedical Engineer, publisher of Scanner, how mentioned how the medical technology effects the functionality of Greek Hospitals,

  • Liza Siola, Architect – City Planner, how analyzed the connection between the education, the post graduate studies, the Continuous Vocational Training, and the practice of the profession of architect.

After the lectures followed and open conversation, with significant participation of the audience.

The day conference took place at the amphitheater of the Technical Chamber of Greece on Monday 11th of March 2013 at 18:00, under the auspices of UIA Greece and Attica Department of SADAS.
